
HOWL GALLERY/TATTOO PRESENTS TIKI MODERN BY N! SATTERFIELD
OPENING RECEPTION NOVEMBER 4th DURING FORT MYERS ART WALK
Tribal meets pop in a new exhibit by N! Satterfield: TIKI MODERN, at HOWL Gallery. N! Satterfield is a Miami-based artist that creates urban pop art pieces, utilizing bright colors and fun tiki and pop culture characters. His art pieces on are carefully crafted on wood, masonite, and various recycled materials. His particular method of production is both time and labor intensive, where intricately shaped designs which are meticulously cut into heavy paper. Acrylic latex paint is then propelled through these strategically designed openings to gradually build the images produced. His works are both technically challenging and aesthetically engaging.
N! Satterfield constantly proves stencil-based artwork can transcend its sign-making history as he blurs distinctions between commercial art, street art and gallery art. N! describes his work as "21st Century Urban Folk Art", which is reflective of his inspiration and use of raw materials from recycling/reclaiming industrial refuse and found materials. His art has been shown in galleries in New York, Florida, Georgia, and California, Austria and Romania and published in MAD! Magazine among others.
Opening reception will be held Friday, November 4th , in conjunction with the downtown Fort Myers Art Walk, from 6-10pm. Light refreshments provided. Free event. The exhibit continues through November 28th.
