VIETNAM MEETS POP ART

WILMINGTON, NC PAINTER AND ART INSTRUCTOR BRINGS VIETNAM LANDSCAPES AND POP ART TO HOWL GALLERY

HOWL Gallery presents the work of Wilmington, NC painter and art instructor Todd Carignan. Todd is a multi-disciplinary artist whose work ranges from landscapes to portraits and pop art. The paintings featured in this show will focus on his Vietnam series of work done during a trip to the country visiting his wife's family. The artist will also be showing a series of pop art works featuring well known musicians, such as James Brown, Snoop Dogg and Jimi Hendrix.

Todd graduated from the Savannah College of Art and Design in 1997, where he received his BFA in Sequential Art (visual storytelling). He currently works as a cartoonist, illustrator, concept designer, portraitist, and fine artist. He also teaches Drawing at the Louise Wells Cameron Art Museum's School as well as Painting and the Art of Comics classes at DREAMS of Wilmington, a non-profit after school arts education program.

The artist will also be painting new SWFL landscapes while he is visiting the week of the show. The new work will be available for purchase during the opening reception.

Todd is a longtime personal friend and former college roommate of HOWL gallery owners Andy Howl and Alainna Zwiernik.
